Job Description

Regional Security Manager

Location: Field-based across the UK (home-based or local store).

Role Purpose: 
The Regional Security Manager is responsible for leading all shrink reduction, security, and risk management activities across a designated region. The role focuses on protecting people, assets, stock, and company reputation through effective loss prevention strategies, investigations, security operations management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Acting as the regional subject matter expert, the Regional Security Manager will drive shrink reduction initiatives, support operational teams, manage security risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesLoss Prevention & Shrink Reduction
  • Deliver regional shrink reduction plans aligned to company objectives and business priorities.
    • Identify and address stock loss trends through data analysis, operational reviews, and targeted interventions.
    • Support stores in implementing best practice loss prevention controls and processes.
    • Drive accountability for shrink reduction across operational teams.
Investigations & Incident Management
  • Lead complex investigations relating to internal theft, external theft, fraud, organised retail crime (ORC), and policy breaches.
    • Conduct interviews and investigations using recognised investigative methodologies.
    • Maintain accurate records, evidence handling, and case management standards.
    • Support and lead responses to serious incidents, including robberies, threats, violence, and critical security events.
Security Operations
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of third-party guarding providers, ensuring contractual obligations, service levels, and operating procedures are achieved.
    • Review and recommend CCTV, alarm, and physical security solutions for existing, new, and relocated stores.
    • Conduct security risk assessments across the retail estate and implement mitigation plans where required.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with Store Operations, People & Culture, Finance, EHS, Compliance, and other key stakeholders.
    • Work closely with the Crime Hub to identify linked offenders and support successful prosecutions.
    • Develop partnerships with police, organised retail crime units, retailers, and external agencies to enhance intelligence sharing and crime prevention.
    • Influence operational leaders to strengthen ownership of security and loss prevention initiatives.
Training & Development
  • Deliver training and awareness programmes covering theft indicators, fraud prevention, self-checkout monitoring, incident response, and security best practices.
    • Coach store and operational leaders to improve compliance and reduce risk exposure.
Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssential
  • 3–5+ years' experience within Loss Prevention, Asset Protection, Security, or a related retail risk management function.
    • Strong investigation experience, including interviewing techniques and evidence management.
    • Proven ability to analyse shrink and risk data and implement effective corrective actions.
    • Experience managing third-party security guarding operations.
    • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience working with police, ORC units, civil recovery partners, or multi-agency groups.
    • Working knowledge of PACE and PEACE interview models.
    • Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the region.
Desirable
  • Security Diploma or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ) Interviewing Techniques Level 1 or 2, or equivalent.
    • Membership of a recognised professional body such as The Security Institute.
    • Experience within Supply Chain, Distribution, or Logistics Loss Prevention.
